Dubelyoo and Shepard Fairey to display work at the VH1 Hip Hop Honors
The works of visual artists Dubelyoo and Shepard Fairey will be on display at the NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom during VH1 Hip Hop Honors: The Dirty South taping.
Dubelyoo: Fine artist, creative designer, illustrator, and concept creator. For more than a decade, Dubelyoo has stamped his footprint on urban culture’s landscape with his work for some of the hottest names in the urban art world as well as the corporate sector. Currently he is a producer of one the largest the traveling urban art exhibitions "Art, Beats + Lyrics."
Shepard Fairey: Contemporary artist, graphic designer, and illustrator who emerged from the skateboarding[1] scene and is currently active in Cincinnati, Ohio. He first became known for his "André the Giant Has a Posse" (...OBEY...) sticker campaign, in which he appropriated images from the comedic super market tabloid Weekly World News. His work became more widely known in the 2008 U.S. presidential election, specifically his Barack Obama "HOPE" poster.

VH1's hugely successful annual tribute to the force that is hip hop music, culture and influence returns in June for a seventh time with VH1 Hip Hop Honors: The Dirty South.
The show will celebrate The Dirty South and the honorees who infused the southern story into hip hop’s global message. Jermaine Dupri, J Prince of Rap-A-Lot Records, The 2 Live Crew, Master P, Organized Noize, Luther “Luke” Campbell and Timbaland are being recognized through performances in collaboration with some of today’s hottest talent. Actor/Comedian Craig Robinson ("The Office") will host.
Generations of hip-hop will bridge the gap for one exceptional night to set it off with the original style and flavor that sparked and inspired the evolution of this now global music phenomenon. 2010 VH1 Hip Hop Honors will tape from NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom and air on VH1 on Monday, June 7 at 9:00 PM ET/PT.
